Speaking of where photos stored on our iPhone, iPhone Photo Stream, iPhone Camera Roll and iPhone Photo Library are first things that come to our mind. However, it is sometimes difficult for us to tell them apart. Read the following paragraphs to learn what exactly they are and in what way are they different from each other.
iPhone Photo Library
iPhone Photo Library is quite different from iPhone Photo Stream and iPhone Camera Roll in that it is not a photo album, but a photo list.
When you sync photos from your computer to your iPhone you will get an album named Photo Library in your Photos app. This isn't an album, but a complete list of all of the synced photos on your iPhone. It will include those in albums and events you have synced, but the photos are really only on your iPhone once. The Photo Library is just a way to view of list of all of these photos instead of viewing them by album or event.
iPhone Camera Roll and Photo Stream
Photo Stream has photos you store in iCloud. Camera Roll is where photos you have taken on your iPhone are stored. In another word, the camera roll is actually on your device, whereas the photo stream is in "the cloud".
If you take a picture on your iPhone it goes into your camera roll and is visible only on your iPhone. If you have enabled photo stream, when you take a picture on your iPhone it's also copied to your photo stream and is instantly visible on your iPad, Mac, etc. as well as your iPhone.
Photo Stream is efficiently managed by iCloud manages, so you don't run out of storage space on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you have Photo Stream enabled on your iOS device, every single photo you take appears in a special Photo Stream album that holds your last 1000 photos. You can delete any photos you don't want from the Photo Stream. To touch up a photo or keep a favorite shot permanently, simply save it to your Camera Roll. iCloud stores new photos for 30 days, so you have plenty of time to connect your iOS device to Wi-Fi and make sure you always have your most recent shots handy.
